What a name & what a woman. Our pendant of Sojourner Truth represents female strength, determination & equality. Read on to hear more about this incredible lady.
Despite being born into slavery, Sojourner escaped to a life of freedom with her daughter in 1826. Just 2 years later Sojourner was the first black woman to win a court case against her white husband to recover her son. She then went on to become an African American abolitionist and women's rights activist. Sojourner represents the epitome of female strength and determination. Soujourner's strength, encouragement and determination for an equal world and speaking the truth in such a difficult & dangerous time in history is something we think is extremely powerful. Wear this talisman as you navigate new history and together we strive for a more equal planet for all genders & cultures.
Soujourner's legend is a beautiful reminder of both how far we have come & yet how far we still have to go.
The Hopi Symbol on the back of the pendant is a symbol for the journey we call life, eventually returning to where we have come from.
While we could write a novel on why we have chosen Miss Truth as the face of this pendant we'll let you learn from here and let this piece of jewellery guide your journey of strength.
A collection inspired by women from around the world, our latest collection 'STILL I RISE' is an ode to the determination, strength and courage of females both past and present.
Suzanne, Sojourner & Serena are the names of the 3 reversible pendants in this collection, each representing a female in history that tells a unique & powerful story. Symbols of strength, Motherhood, and Mother nature have been represented in this capsule collection, STILL I RISE.
